About Me

As an English teacher by day and a sci-fi/fantasy writer by night, I make it my goal to help people live good stories by telling good stories. Getting my M. Div. at Fuller Theological Seminary taught me a lot about how my faith and my craft are integrated -- which is why I enjoy presenting faith and the art of story to others.

I have spoken at many venues including:

  • TEDx BendYouth
  • the National Writers Series
  • and a variety of churches and schools.

I hosted the Artisan Tree Podcast where I interviewed artists and church leaders about art and faith. In the realm of online education, I communicate with students through video lectures, and my courses on Udemy have over 13,000 students enrolled.

Not only am I a speaker but also a writer. My book The Legender has been praised as a grand fairytale by Publishers Weekly, and I have been published in various online publications such as Relevant, Multiply Magazine, and the Realm Makers blog.
